Georgia vs. Florida
Georgia comes into the game against Florida as a big underdog - 16 points on betus.com. Lets look at this game a little more closely and see what you think.
Georgia has underachieved all year long and their defense has been horrible to say the least. They also have been terrible when it comes to turnover ratio. But they also have played an extremely difficult schedule and have not had a cupcake on their schedule, although I guess Vandy could be considered a cupcake, and really have not had any time to adjust to player rotation and getting the younger guys in to see what they can do. Every game with the exception of Vandy has came down to the wire.
Let take a quick look at the records of the teams that Georgia has played
1. Oklahoma St. - 6-1
2. South Carolina - 6-2
3. Arkansas - 3-4
4. Arizona St. - 4-3
5. LSU - 6-1
6. Tennesse - 3-4
7. Vandy - 2-6
Now lets take a look at the records of the teams that Florida has played
1. Charleston Southern - 2-5, they have lost to Wofford, South Florida, Gardner-Webb, Gardner Webb and Florida. Their wins were against North Greenville (who knew there was even a college in Greenville) and Savannah State
2. Troy - 5-2
3. Tennesse - 3-4
4. Kentucky - 4-3
5. LSU - 6-1
6. Arkansas - 3-4
7. Mississippi St. - 3-5
Georgia and Florida have several common opponents Tennesse that waxed UGA and Florida beat, LSU if not for the phantom unsportsmanlike call UGA could have came away with a win and Florida beat, and Arkansas who UGA beat and Florida should have lost the game, again the phantom unsportsmanlike call.
But look at the difference in teams that they do not have in common. Georgia has Oklahoma St., South Carolina, Arizona St., and Vandy. Two of the teams are ranked and Arizona St. plays in the Pac-10. Florida has played Charleston Southern, Troy, Kentucky, and Mississippi St., not exactly murderers row.
